5 things to avoid doing

  • Worry/panic - this is unnecessary and will down-regulate your immune system

  • Using antibacterials - this is a virus

  • Taking medicines for cold&flu, and anti-inflammatories / painkillers (unless you're in severe pain and really need them)

  • Standard Flu vaccination - pointless as its for a different strain of flu and vaccinations down-regulate your immune system temporarily

  • Masks - the standard N95 mass does not stop coronavirus

6 key things that effect the strength of our immune system (gut health is central to all this as 70% of our immune system is in the gut)

  1. Diet

  2. Supplements

  3. Psychological Stress

  4. Anti Inflammatory / painkilling medications

  5. Sleep

  6. Movement

10 things that strengthen your immune system and cost zero money

  1. Stop watching the news & engaging in the conversations & drama

  2. Meditation / yoga

  3. Breath work (wim hof method with cold showers is very effective)

  4. Prioritise getting quality sleep

  5. Sun (light) on skin each day

  6. Gratitude

  7. Move your body daily

Nutrition for a healthy gut and strong immune system

Microbiome - 70% of our immune ststem is in the gut. A poor microbiome diversity is linked to a higher likelihood of getting viral and bacterial infections. Our microbiome works with & drives the immune system.

5 Foods to avoid in general and especially if sick (because they are inflammatory)

  1. Sugars - effects functioning of white blood calls and is inflammatory which is also thing you want. Also avoid beige carbs

  2. Processed foods - doesn’t matter if plant based or not its still processed and damage body

  3. Alcohol - impairs the immune system (small amounts ok maybe eg nice glass of wine with friends)

  4. Toxic oils - vegetable oils especially if refined or heated are very damaging to the body

  5. Foods you’re intolerant to

Eat a variety of SOUL foods (Seasonal, Organic, Unprocessed and Local) where possible:

  • A wide range of vegetables. Eat the rainbow

  • Oily fish - Wild salmon, sardines, anchovies

  • Healthy fats: grass fed butter/ghee, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil

  • Egg yolk

  • Grass fed natural meat, bone broth & organ meats

  • Ginger

  • Garlic

  • Turmeric (consume with black pepper to help with curcumin absorption)

  • Dark berries eg blueberries & blackberries

  • Raw wild honey

  • Propolis tincture

  • Herbs eg oregano, basil, coriander, rosemary

  • Spirulina powder

To prioritize which foods are best to buy organic vs not check out “The Clean 15” and “The Dirty Dozen”

Supplements (seek out quality brands such as seeking health, quicksilver scientific, and life extension)

  • Glutathione

  • Vitamin A

  • Vitamin D3

  • Vitamin C

  • Zinc acetate lozenges

  • Selenium

Mushrooms eg Chaga, Turkey Tail, Reishi (Quality brands: Four Sigmatic, Host Defense)

Probiotics (I use PCO3 L-Plantarum probiotic by BiOpitimzers)

Boost Nitric Oxide Production - dilates vessels and keeps them open blood flow, getting the right stuff to the right place - foods like beets, dark leafy greens, almonds, may help as does break work.

Optimise digestion to ensure you’re breaking down and absorbing the nutrients, especially if plant based as plant foods such as grains and legumes are difficult for body to break down
